Should Khune stay on or retire? Khuzwayo expresses his viewpoint

In response to a question about whether former teammate Itumeleng Khune should hang up his gloves or keep playing, former Kaizer Chiefs goalie Brilliant Khuzwayo has shared his thoughts. Khuzwayo joined Amakhosi in 2012 from AmaZulu FC, and he spent six years in the goalkeeping department at Khune.Prior to leaving the team to sign with the Orlando Pirates and being forced to retire due to injury, he was the second choice. Khune’s contract expired at the end of June, therefore he is currently faced with an uncertain future. His future as a player for the team is uncertain because he was allegedly offered a non-playing role.

Khuzwayo, who was well acquainted with Khune, offered his opinion on the state of his former colleague. Khuzwayo emphasized that the “keeper,” who was born in Ventersdorp, should make his own decisions and not be influenced by the opinions of others. He has told Khune, 37, that other teams will not offer the same atmosphere as Kaizer Chiefs, so if he thinks about other opportunities coming his way, he should make a smart decision.

Khuzwayo remarked, “I guess it is all up to him now, sensing his body, what it tells him?” The decision of when to retire is entirely your own. It is up to him to admit when he is correct. If a player is not hurt, nobody can genuinely tell him or her that their time is up and they had to go.He must go on if he feels the need to, but in my opinion, weighing his alternatives would be the best course of action given that life is not nearly as pleasant outside of Kaizer Chiefs.

Everything you need is there; that is a true professional team. Few teams comprehend that. The training socks are not the same outside, just like a child born into a family with plenty of money. “A lot of things that happen are kept secret. However, he is the one who can sense from his body if retirement is appropriate or not. As Brilliant, I will assert that it must be his decision, not anybody else’s.
