Despite interest from Napoli, Chelsea is adamant that Romulu Lukaku’s £38 million release clause be fulfilled before the striker leaves, according to Fabricio Romano. After the 31-year-old spent the last two seasons on loan at Internazionale and then Roma, the Blues have made it clear that they do not want to allow him to depart on a temporary basis.
During his most recent loan, he made 47 appearances for Roma in all competitions, scoring 21 goals and dishing out four assists. Given Chelsea’s demand of £38 million, it is believed that the Azzurri will not be able to get Lukaku until Victor Osimhen leaves as well. The 25-year-old has frequently been linked to leaving Napoli, with Chelsea occasionally being mentioned.
Lukaku is being considered by Saudi Arabian clubs, and Chelsea is prepared to investigate other clubs’ interest in the Belgium international.Romano stated in a separate tweet that Napoli and Torino center back Alessandro Buongiorno are making headway toward reaching a personal agreement. The 25-year-old is a top target for Napoli under new manager Antonio Conte, and although there have not been any discussions between the two teams as of yet, Napoli is prepared for that to occur.
